SnapGluco ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered diabetic food scanner app that helps users track their food intake, glycemic index scores, and blood sugar impact. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Account information: Email address and name when you create an account
Health data: Diabetes type, age, weight, height, daily sugar goals
Meal logs: Food names, calories, GI scores, nutritional information
Blood sugar readings: Readings you manually enter
Food photos: Temporarily sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis only — never stored
Device information: Device type and OS version for app optimization

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Calculate GI scores and blood sugar predictions
Track your nutrition and health progress
Sync your data across your devices
Improve app features and accuracy
Send optional health reminders

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in two ways:

Local storage: All meal logs and preferences stored securely on your device
Cloud storage: When signed in, data is stored in Supabase (GDPR-compliant, encrypted database)

All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

5. AI Food Analysis

When you scan food:

Your photo is temporarily sent to Google Gemini AI for real-time analysis
The image is processed and immediately discarded — not stored
Results are saved locally on your device only

Active accounts: Data retained while account is active
